Water temp' sensor

1996 960's on, have bosch 4.4 engine managment that only has one temp sender ,and the temp gauge is fed by the ecu.As aposed to the early type 1.8 ecu's that had the two temp senders , the later cars do not have the rear sender ,the ones I have worked on have a bung in the back where the early sender went. If you are having problems that seam temp relared then the chances are it will be the air flow meeter ,if the temp guage reads OK, as the mixture is too far out for the lumbersond to crect, but check over first .note this will not nessaryley show a fault code for the air flow meeter.
