Idle Control Valve Query.

Evening All Just a quickie. If an idle control valve is made by Bosch and has the number 0 280 140 516 on its label, would that fit my B230F engined 940 estate (91/H) even if it didn't come off a Volvo or was advertised for another car. Reason I ask is as soon as you add Volvo into the mix the price seems to double at the minimum. I have just had a quick Google through that part number and have found that there are several Vauxhalls with this part number. Are they the same, is the plug the same? Has it somehow been programmed differently?? Thanks to you all Wayne

Hi, I suspect so, but think that the Bosch part number should be similar. Maybe the last 3 digits? You can certainly find out what Bosch part number is supplied for your Volvo and then get that part from a Bosch supplier. And yes, you'll save money over the Volvo part.. :) Des. . .;)

That Bosch number you supplied links to a hell of a lot of cars... From Saab in 1985, up to brand new ones (Chevrolet Lacetti)! The Volvo number is purely the Volvo catalogue number for the Bosch part (plus their markup, plus the dealer markup)

The Bosch part number you gave is the correct item for 91-95 940's.
